Classification of crushed raw materials

Crushing and screening flow chart, the raw ore enters the bar screen for pre-screening, so that the fine particles in the raw ore can be separated, thereby reducing the load of the crusher. The material on the screen enters the jaw crusher, and after crushing, the obtained product and the material under the screen fall on the vibrating screen. After screening, the material on the screen enters the medium crushing cone crusher (referred to as the medium crusher), the material under the screen falls on the vibrating screen, and the product discharged from the medium crusher also falls on the vibrating screen. After screening, the material on the screen enters the fine crushing cone crusher (referred to as the fine crusher). In this way, the vibrating screen is both a pre-screening and an inspection screening. The function of the inspection screening is to screen the crusher discharge, and its screen hole size is roughly equal to the pre-screening screen hole size. The unqualified material on the screen enters the fine crusher, and its product returns to the vibrating screen, while the qualified product under the screen falls into the silo and is then sent to the ball mill. The unqualified material on the vibrating screen enters the fine crusher again.

In this process, the fine crusher is a closed-circuit crusher, while the gyratory and medium crushers are open-circuit crushers. The gyratory crusher is a one-stage crusher (primary crusher). The medium crusher is a two-stage crusher (secondary crusher), and the fine crusher is a three-stage crusher (tertiary crusher). The entire process can also be called the coarse crushing section, the medium crushing section, the fine crushing section and the grinding section.

Table 1-1 Division of crushing sections
Crushing section Coarse crushing Medium crushing Fine crushing
Feeding particle size D/mm 500~1500 100~350 40~100
Discharge particle size/mm 100~350 40~100 10~30

The division method in Table 1-1 is mainly applicable to jaw crushers, box crushers, impact crushers, cone crushers, roller crushers, etc. Impact and hammer crushers can crush 100mm large pieces of material to less than 10~30mm in one time. Another example is that a double-stage crusher can crush 300mm large pieces of material to less than 0.044mm at one time, that is, one machine can complete all operations of coarse, medium and fine crushing or coarse, medium, fine crushing and grinding.
